The Dijon Ultimate Cup Series weekend ends for some and continues for others... No less than seven races, six sprints of 20 or 25 minutes, and a three-hour endurance event, punctuated this Saturday on the Dijon-Prenois Circuit.

208 RACING CUP

The battles of the day in this plateau of the Peugeot 208 Racing Cup have nothing to envy of those of the day before. The first corner is always the scene of more or less daring attempts, often with more than four cars abreast!

Proof of the high level of the different drivers, four different winners took turns on the first step of the podium. Youth was in the spotlight during the morning race with the success of Joran Leneutre. The JSB Compétition driver won his first circuit victory of his young career, at the age of 16.

Crossing the finish line first is no guarantee of victory. Antoine Blondeau (JSB Compétition) learned this the hard way as he was disqualified from the race because his car did not undergo post-race technical inspections. The victory therefore went to Joan Caillaut on the green carpet for Jean Pat Racing.

SINGLE-SEAT

The duel between Nicolas Cheers to Jean-Baptiste Mela in race 1 intensified this Saturday. Determined to respond to the undisputed leader of the championship, the young Corsican driver felt himself growing wings during the night.

Victorious yesterday, on land that is dear to his father, Alain, Nicolas Prost had to lose this Saturday, twice against Jean-Baptiste Mela who left his mark. The driver of the No. 3 Autosport GP F1R led Race 2 from start to finish after breaking away from the CMR driver at the first corner. The latter was unable to do anything to regain his due... Race 3 was somewhat different since Nicolas Prost, second on the grid, found himself in the position of the chaser... For one lap only. He immediately took control, but engine shutdowns a few meters from the finish deprived him of another success. Jean-Baptiste Mela therefore wins.

Luis Sanjuan (Graff) made the Dijon-Prenois Circuit his favorite playground to make a big splash in the Gentleman category.

GT SPRINT

The Renault RS 01 in the GT Class 3A category of the GT Sprint are simply untouchable. Defeated after the first two confrontations, on Friday, Marc Waechter (G2 Racing AG) increased his pace in the seat of the No. 4 French GT, to give the reply to Bernard Delhez (AB Sport Auto) in race 3.

On pole for the final race of this second round, Charles-Henri Samani (Racetivity) chose not to take part in the race in order to preserve his Mercedes-AMG GT3 for its GT program Endurance. Bernard Delhez therefore finds himself alone on the front row, followed closely by Marc Waechter when the starting signal is given. The latter is the victim of a collision at the first turn with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup n°300 and falls in the standings.

Failing to be able to secure the victory which seems acquired for the Renault n°30 of AB Sport, the Swiss driver climbs up to second place, ahead of the Ferrari 458 n°17/Duqueine, entrusted to Philippe Colançon.

PROTO LMP3/CN/EVO

The LMP3, CN and CN EVO crews open the endurance races of the Burgundian weekend.

Author of pole position for the second time in a row, the crew of the No. 320 Ligier JS P88 from Team Virage also won for the second time this season. Nothing seems to be able to stop Mathis Poulet, Julian Wagg and Miguel Cristovao who have not completed the most laps in the lead.

The first part of the race was, in fact, dominated by Jordan Perroy in the No. 30 DB Autosport Duqueine M08 – D21, which he shared with Lionel and Antoine Robert.

The crew of the No. 88 built its comeback to catch up with the race leader and reach the top of the hierarchy 30 minutes from the finish. At 18 years old, Mathis Poulet did not crack under the pressure. Leader of the race, he saw the gap melt like snow in the sun, following the intervention of the safety car, a quarter of an hour before the checkered flag was presented. The restart 5 minutes from the end of the race was ultimately just a simple formality for the young man who was not worried by Antoine Robert, on the Duqueine.

Mathis Poulet, Julian Wagg and Miguel Cristovao won with a 5 second lead over the crew from the Dijon team. Team Virage takes a double podium with third place in the #77. Mirage Racing falls just short of the podium.

With four Norma M20 FCs entered among the seven CNs, ANS Motorsport had to achieve at least a double. It was done for Nicolas Schatz's team, which took victory with the No. 71, driven by the boss-driver and Alexandre Yvon, ahead of the sister car No. 72 of Sylvain Caroff and Jean-Philippe Jouvent.

GT ENDURANCE

Whether in sprints or endurance, the Renault RS 01s are definitely on the rise on the Dijon-Prenois Circuit.

The #5 Renault of FIT ITBC by 2SM Pilotage, masterfully driven by Stéphane Tribaudini and Franck Dezoteux, took pole position thanks to an average best time of 1:15.987. The gap stands at a full second with the no.488 Visiom Ferrari 3 GT1 Evo…

The 4-hour race will end the weekend between 14 p.m. and 18 p.m. on Sunday.
