At the end of the second of three stages of Rally du Valais, event counting towards the European Rally Championship, Grégoire Hotz (Peugeot 207 S2000) still dominates the general classification. The Swiss even increased his lead to almost a minute (54??1) over his runner-up, Giandomenico Basso (Abarth Grande Punto S2000). The Italian driver is well ahead of his rival for the European title, Michal Solowow (Peugeot 207 S2000) and should take the 2009 crown this Saturday.

Fourth, Florian Gonon (Subaru Impreza) won the title of Swiss champion even before the end of the event, following the retirement of Ivan Ballinari (Peugeot 207 S2000). In fifth place in the general classification, we find the Frenchman Bryan Bouffier (Citroën C2 R2 Max). Sixth overall, Alessandro Bettega dominates the Clio R3 West European Trophy standings.
