If the title of world rally champion was decided today, on the side of Wales, it is not the same in the French gravel rally championship. The sixth and final round will take place on Saturday and Sunday in Vaucluse, and it will be decisive for the awarding of the national crown.

It is between two pilots of Peugeot 207 Super 2000 that it plays out: Simon Jean-Joseph and Emmanuel Gascou. The latter has the advantage of leading in points, but the regulations, which require counting the worst result of the season, do not plead in its favor. Even in the event of victory, the driver of the 207 Enjolras will not score the maximum score. Conversely, Simon Jean-Joseph, absent during the first round, will be able to achieve a complete result. A second or third place overall would therefore earn him more points than Gascou. “ But I will do everything to obtain the best possible result », affirmed the Martinican pilot.

Some troublemakers could well interfere in this final struggle, like Jean-Luc Morel (Peugeot 307 WRC) or Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta S 2000), who won last year. Finally, note that following the heavy rain that fell recently, the Caderousse special, which was to take place on Sunday, was canceled. THE rally will therefore take place over 110 km of times, compared to 128 km planned.
