Winner of the last two World Championship events Rallycross in Norway and France, the Swede Timmy Hansen (Team Peugeot -Hansen – Peugeot 208) dominated the first qualifying round of the Barcelona meeting in Catalonia, contested on the Montmelo track.
Author of a best time in 3'16"532, Hansen beat Johan Kristofferson (Volkswagen Team Sweden – VW Polo) and Frenchman Davy Jeanney (Team Peugeot-Hansen). Reigning World Champion Petter Solberg (SDRX – Citroën DS3) only took tenth place.
