Toomas Heikkinen (Audi S1 – EKS RX) won the first qualifying round of the Trois-Rivières meeting in Canada in World RX. In very wet conditions, the Finn, at the wheel of a car benefiting from a new rear wing visibly effective on the Quebec straights, set the best Q1 time in 3'37"971 and is ahead of the championship leader in world Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo GTi – PSRX VW Sweden) and Kevin Eriksson (Ford Fiesta – MJP Racing Team Austria).
Mattias Ekström (Audi S1 – EKS RX) follows in fourth position ahead of Ken Block (Ford Focus RS RX – Hoonigan Racing Division) and Petter Solberg (Volkswagen Polo GTi – PSRX VW Sweden). Sebastian Loeb (Peugeot 208 WRX – Team Peugeot-Hansen) finished tenth in this Q1. Reinis Nitiss (Audi S1 – EKS RX) did not have success in the final time, following transmission problems.
