Taking advantage in particular of the false start of Petter Solberg (SD RX – Citroën DS3), which forced the World Champion to go through the joker lap twice, Johan Kristoffersson (VW Team Sweden – Volkswagen Polo) widened the gap by leading the Italian round of the World RX contested on the Franciacorta track.
Reinis Nitiss (Olsbergs MSE – Ford Fiesta) won the third qualifying confrontation, ahead of Kristoffersson, Andreas Bakkerud (Olsbergs MSE – Ford Fiesta) and Davy Jeanney (Team Peugeot -Hansen – Peugeot 208). Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Citroën C4) took ninth place. Guerlain Chicherit (JRM Racing – Mini) was unsuccessful in leaving the track during this first round of the day.
