Return of the Historic Dubai GP Revival

Motor racing in the Middle East is not as recent as one might think. Next December, it will indeed be 40 years since the first Dubai Grand Prix took place; 15 Citroën CXs driven by racing stars Formula 1 had been collected. No French sedan on the program for the next Historic Dubai Grand Prix Revival (December 2-3) but two prestigious categories, F1 from 1970 to 1985 as well as Group C from 1982 to 1992.

GPX Events, a branch of the GP Extreme group based at Dubai Autodrome, is organizing this event for the second time through Pierre-Brice Mena, the Operational Director of Gulf Historic. “It will not only be a sporting event, but also a festival to revive an entire era in this region which is today very sensitive to vintage and classic cars.

An event that brings together cars and objects that people are not used to seeing is likely to be a great success. The chosen period will be favorable, because it is offset from the European calendar." GPX Historic distinguished itself by entering 11 former F1 cars at the last Historic Monaco Grand Prix for, among others, Jean-Denis Delétraz and Julien Andlauer.
