Second at the finish of the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring in Austria yesterday, the Oreca 07 of Team Duqueine, entrusted to the trio Nelson Panciatici – Pierre Ragues – Nico Jamin, was excluded from the results of the event for non-confirmation in the level of fuel used on the LM P2 of the Gard stable.

Yann Belhomme, Team Principal of Team Duqueine, wanted to shed some light on the situation encountered. “Team Duqueine is collaborating with the Cool Racing team for the refueling of their No. 3 LM P30 Norma M9, indicates the French manager.

The last race of this car was at the Road To Le Mans where the gasoline used was ELF index 102. The one used on all the sleeves ofELMS is the Total index 102. Last Wednesday a day of Private Tests was organized at the Red Bull Ring in order to prepare for the meeting.

During this day, the gasoline used is free. The staff of the No. 30 Norma M9 therefore used the excess gasoline brought back from Le Mans. At the end of each run the tanks are drained in order to precisely refine the consumption per lap of the car in order to perfect the strategy for the race to come.

A little ELF gasoline certainly remained at the bottom of the tank and was therefore detected. Between the Le Mans Cup and ELMS rounds, we share fuel and this is why it was also found in our LM P2 Oreca 07 (less than 0,5%). »
