Last Sunday, Audi won the 24 Hours of Spa for the first time, thanks to the WRT team. Dr Wolfgang Ullrich, the head of the sporting branch of the brand with the rings, congratulated the young Belgian team.
“Vincent Vosse's team did a fantastic job throughout this race which they competed at home, did he declare. Mattias (Ekström, editor’s note), Greg (Crossed, editor’s note) and Timo (Scheider, editor’s note) were fast without making any mistakes which was precisely the key to success this weekend with the reliability and level of performance of the R8 LMS. Unfortunately, our other three cars did not have any luck especially within the Ernst Moser line-up. (Phoenix Racing, editor’s note). Our situation reminded us Le Mans at the end. After a few hours we only had one iron in the fire, but we won with this car. It shows the strength of our nerves and our team spirit because everyone helped to win with this one car. »
