While Mercedes SLS AMG n°22 of Graf-Jäger-Roloff-Seyffahrt led the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, the Rowe Racing car returned to the pits after a little over 18 hours of racing following what appeared to be a mechanical problem. The No. 8 Audi R3 LMS of Team Phoenix, driven by Basseng-Haase-Stippler-Winkelhock, who was following just behind, took the opportunity to take the lead of the event.
