In the final round of the Audi R8 LMS Cup in Shanghai (the penultimate having been contested on this same track as a prologue to the 6 Hours of WEC), it is the guest Edoardo Mortara, who came directly from Abu Dhabi where he was offered ?his rookie test? F1 at the wheel of the Lotus, which won in the first race. This participation by Mortara was planned as preparation for the last race of the GT Asia championship in Macau, an event which he already won last year with an R8 LMS, following his two successes in F3.
The Italian-French, Audi official in DTM, beat Hong Kong's Marchy Lee by a few lengths, his compatriot Aderly Fong taking 3rd place. The Malaysian had taken pole position but had to settle for 4th place.
Before the final start on Sunday, Marchy Lee took the lead in the general classification from Aderly Fong. Whoever finishes ahead of the other tomorrow will be titled. Taiwanese Jeffrey Lee remains leader of the amateur category.
