Change of format and new date for the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi

After two years of complications linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi (or the Gulf) will be somewhat modified for its 11th edition. Contested in January and on two different circuits (Bahrain and Abu Dhabi) during the last two performances, the raceEndurance of the Gulf will return to normal in 2022.

The next edition of the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi will take place in December, the 11th to be precise, thus returning to the traditions of the race. Big news this year, the event will be contested in one go compared to two 6-hour games so far.

« We are delighted to see the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi return to its original December date, which has always been our competitors' preferred date on the international calendar, underlines Andrea Ficarelli, promoter of the event. We expect to see a sold-out registration list again, as was already the case in December 2019, which was our last event before the pandemic affected the sport globally and the UAE motorsport calendar United Arabs. Due to demand, we have also taken into account feedback from all our competitors past and present and are happy to introduce a 12 hour race in one go instead of two. Cette 11e édition des 12 Heures d’Abou Dhabi sera ouverte à cinq catégories : GT3 Pro, GT3 ProAm, GT3 Am, GT4 and Porsche GT3 Cup (992). À noter que les organisateurs étudient encore les demandes d’engagement d’une Ligier JS2R et d’une KTM X-Bow GTX. L’ouverture des inscriptions est fixée au vendredi 10 juin.
