After a first participation in NASCAR Cup Series last season on the Roval de Charlotte, a mixed track made up of a large part of the Charlotte oval and an Infield road portion, Daly will compete in qualifying for the 500 Daytona 2023. He will have a lot to do do to pocket one of the 4 available places against Jimmie Johnson (Legacy Motor Club), Travis Pastrana (23XI Racing), Zane Smith (Front Row Motorsports), Chandler Smith (Kaulig Racing) and Austin Hill (Beard Motorsports).
This is a new opportunity for the 30-year-old pilot to broaden his driving spectrum as his father Derek Daly did before him. After 5 seasons of Formula 1 from 1978 to 1982, the latter had successfully turned towardsIndycar and l'Endurance, notably winning the 12 Hours of Sebring twice in 1990 and 1991.

Daly's program should include 6 races in addition to the Daytona 500. Let's hope for the friendly American driver that this participation will bring him more satisfaction than the Charlotte 2022 round which saw him finish in 34th position out of 39 registered after qualifying in last place.
