After Maxime Martin during the first session, Augusto Farfus confirms the good form of the BMW M4s on the Red Bull Speilberg Ring in Austria by setting the best time in the second free practice session in DTM. In 1'25″247, he is ahead of the Mercedes C-Coupé AMG of Christian Vietoris, and the Audi RS5 of Miguel Molina.
The session was interrupted for a moment following the exit of the track by the Englishman Paul di Resta (Mercedes), fortunately without serious consequences for the driver. The star cars also seem to be raising their heads a little with Vietoris' second place, but also Robert Wickens' 5th place and Pascal Wehrlein's 8th. At Audi, Mike Rockenfeller, reigning champion, took 15th place just ahead of Frenchman Adrien Tambay.
Qualifying will take place around 18:10 p.m. in Austria.
