Antonio Félix da Costa (BMW) took pole for Race 1 of the DTM in Hockenheim. The Portuguese clocked a time of 1'32''344, ahead of Miguel Molina (Audi) by a tenth. The top five on the grid is completed by BMW drivers with in order Tom Blomqvist, Championship leader Marco Wittmann and Maxime Martin.
Edoardo Mortara (Audi), Marco Wittmann's rival for the title, will start from eighth position.
Adrien Tambay (Audi) took 23rd place, finishing more than nine tenths from pole.
