At the wheel of his Audi A5 DTM n°22, Felipe Albuquerque set the best time in the first free practice session on the Nürburgring circuit in 1'25"007. The Portuguese is ahead of two other Audi drivers, Mattias Ekström and Mike Rockenfeller. Adrien Tambay had a good start on the German track as he finished the day in sixth place, just ahead of championship leader Gary Paffett, seven tenths behind the best performance of the day.
