Filipe Albuquerque (Audi) set the best time in the first free practice session of the season at Hockenheim with a time of 1:34:508. The Portuguese is ahead of Mike Rockenfeller (1), Edoardo Mortara (34) and Timo Scheider (524). Gary Paffett, first pilot Mercedes, is only seventh. Andy Priaulx, first BMW driver, is only 12th. Frenchman Adrien Tambay (Audi) took ninth place.
