DTM – EL1: Rockenfeller starts well

Mike Rockenfeller (Audi RS 5 DTM) set the best time in free practice at Hockenheim, for what was the first official session of this new DTM season. In very wet conditions, the German, in 1:50:334, beat another Audi, that of the Swede Mattias Ekström. Augusto Farfus is third with his BMW M3 DTM. The first one Mercedes, that of Christian Vietoris, ranks in seventh position, 0??823 behind the best time. Bruno Spengler (BMWW M3 DTM), the reigning champion, is 12th in 1'51"596. For his debut here, the former pilot of F1 Timo Glock, also at BMW, is 13th. The only Frenchman entered in the German championship, Adrian Tambay finished 20th in 1:52:214.
