After setting the second fastest time in the first free practice session at the Lausitzring, Martin Tomczyk set the best time in both practice sessions. The Audi driver, second in the Championship, completed the German circuit in 1:18:912. Filipe Albuquerque finished at 0??128 and Oliver Jarvis at 0??186. Jamie Green places first Mercedes in fifth position at 0??286 of the first beat.
The gaps remain tight, with the first 17 drivers grouped together in less than a second. Tom Kristensen, who replaces Mike Rockenfeller, set the 13th fastest time, 0??614 behind the best Audi driver, and just ahead of Edoardo Mortara. Bruno Spengler (Mercedes), the Championship leader, is seventh at 0??411.
