Mattias Ekström (Audi A4) will start from pole in the race DTM of the Nürburgring. The Swede, facing three drivers Mercedes, was the fastest in Q4, the last phase of the qualifying session. He beat Bruno Spengler, Jamie Green and Paul di Resta. Gary Paffett (Mercedes C-Class) placed fifth in Q3, ahead of Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes), Miguel Molina (Audi) and Timo Scheider (Audi). Frenchman Alexandre Prémat (Audi) was eliminated in Q1, ranking sixteenth.
