The ex-pilot F1 with 91 Grand Prix starts, who had given another direction to his career by joining the DTM at the start of this season, won his first victory in the discipline, this Sunday at Hockenheim. The BMW driver beat Roberto Merhi (Mercedes) and pole sitter Bruno Spengler (BMW). Caught in a collision at the start, Adrien Tambay (Audi) finished 14th. BMW took the Manufacturers' title, but it was Team Phoenix who hired Mike Rockenfeller and Miguel Molina who won the Teams title.
