Already the best time in the first two free practice sessions, the Italian Edoardo Mortara (Audi) took pole position for the first race of the DTM which will take place at the end of the afternoon on the Red Bull Spielberg Ring in Austria. With a benchmark established in 1'24″714, he is ahead of Jamie Green who completes a 100% Audi front row.
Pascal Wehrlein and Paul di Resta will share the second row with their Mercedes C-Coupé AMG, while Augusto Farfus places the first BMW in 5th position alongside the Mercedes of Christian Vietoris. Adrien Tambay (Audi) will start 11th.
