Martin Tomczyk, who scored the pole in the Spielberg race, once again set the best time in the warm-up. In dry weather, the Audi driver set a time of 1:26:285 and was only 7 thousandths ahead of Maro Engel (Mercedes). Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) recovered by setting the 3rd fastest time of the session (+0??033).
The race is likely to be particularly lively if the conditions remain the same. The first seven drivers regroup within a tenth of a second.
