Marco Wittmann (BMW) only needed to take sixth place at the Lausitzring (Germany) to win the title with two races still to go! His main opponent Mattias Ekström (Audi) retired.
Pascal Wehrlein (Mercedes) won his first victory in DTM after starting on pole. The podium is 100% German with Christian Vietoris (Mercedes) in second position ahead of Timo Scheider (Audi). The AMG C Coupes of Daniel Juncadella and Robert Wickens complete the top five. Maxime Martin (BMW) only takes 14th position. Adrien Tambay (Audi) retired.
