By completing a lap of the Nogaro circuit in 1'26"091, René Rast allowed the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT to take pole position in the qualifying race for the opening round of the FIA GT Series. The German, who shares the wheel with Niki Mayr-Melnhof, beat both McLaren MP4-12C Sébastien Loeb Racing, the No. 10 of Mike Parisy preceding the No. 9 of Alvaro Parante. As a reminder, the two men's teammates are Andreas Zuber and Sébastien Loeb.
