The difference in size between Antoine Leclerc and Vanina Ickx is not without causing some problems for Belgian Racing. Unable to find a driving position that suited her, the daughter of the six-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans preferred to give up his seat in Abu Dhabi, where the opening round of the 1 FIA GT2011 world championship is taking place this weekend.
Frenchman Antoine Leclerc will therefore share the wheel of the No. 9 Ford GT with his compatriot Fabien Giroix. The latter has the advantage of knowing the track perfectly, since he participates in the local GT championship aboard a Corvette Z06.
The Belgian Racing team will now work to find a solution so that Vanina Ickx is able to take part in what will be her home race, namely the Belgian round, which will be held in Zolder on April 9 and 10. .
