Peter Kox and Christopher Haase will defend the colors of Lamborghini and Reiter Engineering in the FIA GT1 world championship this season.
The presence of the Dutchman in the team is anything but a surprise, as the winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2003 in the GT1 category knows the house well. It is also amusing to note that Kox will face Tomas Enge and Christoffer Nygaard throughout the season with whom he will share the wheel of the car.Aston Martin DBR9 from the Young Driver AMR team in Sarthe next June.
He is therefore joined in the seat of the Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV by the young 22-year-old German Christopher Haase whose FIA GT3 title acquired last year in an Audi R8 has just been confirmed this week. Also winner of the ADAC GT Masters in 2007 and the GT4 European Cup in 2008, Haase continues to climb the ranks of the Grand Touring categories with insolent success.
The only car in the field to have no season under its belt, the Lamborghini Murcielago will have to face some of the toughest competition. But with a crew whose GT driver qualities are no longer in doubt, Reiter Engineering could well play spoilsport at the front of the race.
