Many thought the Nissans were out of the picture. And yet the GT-R won last weekend, certainly on the green carpet, its first victory of the season, and this, in the second round of the 1 FIA GT2010 world championship. Indeed, the first to go under the flag checkered, theAston Martin DB9 Young Driver AMR entrusted to Darren Turner and Tomas Enge was downgraded due to a wooden board located under the car that was lower than authorized. The victory should therefore logically have gone to another DB9, that of the Hexis AMR team driven by Frédéric Makowiecki and Tomas Accary. But the latter received a 15-second penalty, Accary having taken more than three laps to observe a Drive-Through inflicted by the race direction. It was therefore up to the crew initially third at the finish, namely Jamie Campbell-Walter and Warren Hughues in the Nissan GT-R Sumo Power, that the victory went. The podium was completed by Makowiecki-Accary and the duo Jos Menten-Frank Kechele (Lamborghini Reiter).
