It's not just Ayhancan Güven who will make his debut in DTM at the Norisring this weekend. In the streets of Nuremberg, Franck Perera will also compete in his first race in the German touring championship.
Called up at the last minute, the Habs will replace the Swiss Rolf Ineichen, still ill, at the wheel of the No. 19 Lamborghini Huracan of the Grasser Racing Team. If he is going to discover the DTM, Franck Perera already knows the Norisring having driven there during his Formula 3 Euro Series years in 2004 and 2005 where he notably got on the podium.
« I am delighted to participate in a DTM race for the first time in my career. I will do my best to be a worthy replacement for Rolf, underlines the Frenchman. It’s nice to work with GRT again and come back to the Norisring. I have very good memories of this circuit since my time in Formula 3 and I can't wait to race there again after so long."
Having passed through the GRT a few years ago, Franck Perera notably won the 24 Hours of Daytona in GTD in 2018 alongside Rolf Ineichen and Mirko Bortolotti, his teammate this weekend.
