The champion DTM 2005 Gary Paffett (Mercedes) set the best time in the second free practice session of the meeting held at the Lausitzring (Germany). The winner of the inaugural race in Hockenheim (Germany) lapped 272 thousandths faster than his teammate Paul di Resta (Mercedes). Championship leader, Timo Glöck (BMW) is in third place, just ahead of the first Audi, that of Robin Frijns.
Loïc duval (Audi) set the 15th fastest time, a close second behind the Briton.
