Goodyear and NASCAR announced the multi-year renewal of one of the oldest partnerships in Motorsport. The tire manufacturer will therefore continue to equip cars in the 3 major series of the North American discipline.
The “Throwback Weekend Cup” at Darlington also retains its name Goodyear 400.
For almost 70 years, the discipline and its supplier have been inseparable. This season, Goodyear had to negotiate the switch to an 18-inch central nut mount on the Next Gen. If the revolution did not happen without problems, it allowed the discipline to succeed in this new technological transformation after the transition to slicks in 1972 and the adoption of the radial structure in 1989.
Goodyear produces more than 100 tires for NASCAR's top three series each year, and each one is hand-built by Goodyear technicians in Akron, Ohio – Goodyear's global headquarters.
