Christian Engelhart has been at the heart of the news lately. A few days later the announcement of his departure from the Porsche fold and the day after its officialization as an official Lamborghini driver, the German has just been confirmed with Gresser Racing Team in DTM for the 2024 season. The Austrian team has, at the same time, formalized its presence in the German touring championship.

The Gresser Racing Team, supported by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, will keep the Huracán GT3 EVO2 in gold livery. The No. 63 will therefore be driven by Christian Engelhart, who finished the 2023 season with GRT after the end of his adventure with Toksport WRT during the year. The 36-year-old driver even finished on the third step of the podium at the Hockenheimring.

“I immediately had a good feeling when I returned to GRT for the DTM finale at Hockenheim, and this was confirmed by our success on the podium,” said Christian Engelhart. Competing in the DTM full-time next year as a Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver with GRT is very emotional and fills me with great pride. I would like to thank Gottfried, Lamborghini and all the partners for the trust they have placed in me. Together, we will do everything in our power to maximize our success. I am excited to begin ! »

“After the weekend at the Hockenheimring, we quickly understood where our journey in the 2024 DTM should take us, said Gottfried Grasser, Team Principal of GRT. Christian has a long history with us and has always been part of the GRT family. When he returned, he immediately impressed us again with the qualities we always appreciated in him. From then on, the goal was to see him in one of our cars throughout next season. We've put a lot of effort into putting together a program with Christian over the last few weeks and we're glad it worked. »
