Stéphane Ortelli miraculously avoided the safety rails during qualifying at the Slovakia Ring. The No. 8 Audi R32 LMS of Team WRT was only able to take eighth place on the grid for the qualifying race, the Monegasque not having had time to set a time in the last session. The latter made a mistake at the end of the race and only took 11th place with his teammate Laurens Vanthoor.
