Hockenheim – Second pole for Kelvin van der Linde, sole leader now

In Olympic form with pole and victory on Saturday, Kelvin van der Linde got his Sunday off to a great start at Hockenheim. Comfortable on the German track, the ABT driver dominated the second qualifying session of the weekend.

With a best lap completed in 1'37"392 during his 9th and final attempt, the South African beat a duo of Mercedes, Lucas Auer (+0“087) and Arjun Maini (+0“121). A performance which allowed him to take sole control of the championship due to the 3 points awarded to the pole sitter. It now has 191.

Tied leader so far, Liam Lawson will start 4th this Sunday and will have to come back to try to regain the reins of the championship after seeing Kelvin van der Linde take a slight lead before the final round of the season at the Norisring (9 and 10 october.
