The final of DTM gets off to a flying start! At the end of the first qualifying session, which determines the starting order for Race 1, it was the championship runner-up Lucas Auer who finished in the lead. With a time of 1'36″479, the Austrian signed the 3rd pole position of his season and recovers the 3 points awarded for a pole in DTM. Thus, he is only 8 points behind the leader, Sheldon van der Linde, who will start from 6th place in front of his brother, Kelvin.

Qualifying was fiercely contested between the title contenders. As a reminder, there are still nine of them who can mathematically hope for a title by Sunday evening, even if a group of five drivers is in a preferential position. Before the start, the top 5 is held by just 15 points! In addition to the first two in the championship, we will find René Rast at the start in 9th position, Thomas Preining just ahead of him in 8th place and Mirko Bortolotti in 3rd place. The start of Race 1 at Hockenheim is scheduled for 13:30 p.m.
