Lausitzring – Qualifying 1: Lucas Auer dominates the first session

The first qualifying session of the weekend at Lausitzring was won by Lucas Auer (Mercedes AMG Team Winward Racing) in 1'30"654 ahead of Sheldon Van Der Linde (Schubert Motorsport) and Maro Engel (Mercedes AMG Team GruppeM Racing).

Lausitzring – Qualifying 1: Lucas Auer dominates the first session

For the second round of DTM, it's Lucas Auer (Mercedes AMG Team Winward Racing) who took pole position in Germany. The Mercedes driver set the best time in the first Qualifying session of the weekend in 1'30″654. The Austrian is two hundredths ahead of Sheldon Van Der Linde (Schubert Motorsport) who will start alongside him on the starting grid for the first race of the weekend. The South African managed to slip in front of the two Mercedes of Maro Engel (Mercedes AMG Team GruppeM Racing) and Luca Stolz (Mercedes AMG Team HRT)

The leader in the general classification after the first round at Portimao, Mirko Bortolotti (GRT) will start from 9th place on the starting grid after finishing 5 tenths behind poleman Lucas Auer. DTM vice-champion in 2020 and winner in Portugal, Nico Mueller (Team Rosberg) finished qualifying in 14th place. Race 1 will start at 13:30 p.m. French time.
