While the final of DTM is being held this weekend on the Hockenheim circuit (Germany), the organizers of the German championship have announced a change in regulations at the dawn of the 2019 season. Currently powered by V8 engines, the Audis and other BMWs will have to place a block 4 cylinder 2 liter turbo to continue racing in DTM.

It is certainly no coincidence that these same regulations are also in place in SuperGT. This decision brings the two championships closer together for future years, facilitating the commitments of German brands to Japan and vice versa.
