La “Class One” resulting from the mixture between DTM and the Super GT was to be established in the USA with an inaugural event planned for next year before being postponed to 2016. However, Masaaki Bandoh, the President of the Japanese company GTA, indicated in Race Engineering that the manufacturers registered in Super GT would not make the trip without investment from American brands. “The ideal Class One grid would be to have three German manufacturers, three Japanese and three American. It's a good idea to bring the Super GT to the USA, but it doesn't matter to us without the presence of US manufacturers like Ford or GM. »
