Le DTM will use more environmentally friendly fuel this weekend for the season finale at Hockenheim. According to the organization, this essence makes it possible to reduce the carbon footprint by 30%. It will be tested on “race taxis” (racing cars reserved for demonstrations and on-track debuts) with an Audi RS 5 DTM from the 2017 season and a Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
The German Touring Car Championship is also working on the implementation of a hybrid system by looking for technical partners. Organizers have clarified that elements of the hybrid system should be common on every DTM car for cost reasons.
