Already relocated to Hockenheim (March 16-19), after having been initially scheduled for Monza, after the spread of the coronavirus in Lombardy a few days ago, the pre-season tests of DTM will ultimately not take place, the virus spreading far too quickly in Europe.

“The health and safety of everyone involved is our top priority, indicates Marcel Mohaupt, manager of the series. The general situation around the coronavirus, combined with the directives of the German government authorities and the consideration of those involved, means that we have taken the decision to cancel this test.

Naturally, we are disappointed that the DTM – as well as many other sports – has to take such measures, but obviously these are for the greater good. Regarding the start of the 2020 season, we are engaged in close dialogue with our partners, manufacturers and organizers at each meeting. »

The opening round of the season, scheduled for April 25 and 26 in Zolder, remains for the moment maintained. The Belgian circuit, however, indicated this Friday to cancel all its events until April 3 inclusive.
