The Mercedes-AMG C63 dominated the second free practice session of the opening meeting of the 2017 season of DTM. Lucas Auer, author of a reference lap in 1'31"712, leads a quadruple of cars badged with the star, ahead of Paul di Resta, best time yesterday in EL1, by 103 thousandths, Edoardo Mortara by 184 thousandths and Robert Wickens by more than three tenths.
Fifth, Nico Müller is the best representative of the Audi clan, and is 333 thousandths behind Auer. Marco Wittmann places the first BMW M4 in sixth position by more than four tenths. Engaged on both fronts of the DTM and World RX this weekend, Mattias Ekström (Audi) took 11th place, six tenths behind the leader.
Loïc duval (Audi) ranks 16th with a time established in 1'32″558, at 0″846. Qualifying for the first race of the weekend will begin at 11:35 a.m.
