Lucas Auer (Mercedes) set the best time in the second free practice session of the DTM at the Norisring with a reference time established in 47”814. The star brand driver precedes championship leader René Rast (Audi) by 143 thousandths and Gary Paffett (Mercedes) by 192 thousandths.
The Audi RS 5 of Mike Rockenfeller and Nico Müller complete the top 5 at 195 and 275 thousandths. Bruno Spengler places the first BMW in sixth position, one thousandth behind Müller. Loïc duval (Audi) signs the 17th time, six tenths behind the Austrian Auer, and precedes Maxime Martin (BMW) last in this second free practice session, contested before the first qualifying.
