Despite convincing results, Romain Grosjean will not finish the FIA GT1 world championship season within the Matech Compétition team. The former Renault resident F1 team will be replaced next week on the Nürburgring circuit by his compatriot Nicolas Cheers. The latter will therefore find the Swiss Neel Jani in the No. 6 Ford GT with whom he shares the seat of the No. 12 Rebellion in Le Mans Series.
For the record, in Hungary, following the accident, Ho-Pin Tung, Eric Boullier had declared that it would not be impossible for the Dams team to call on Grosjean again if its Chinese driver was not able to line up at the start of the Belgian round of the GP2 Series next week . Grosjean had already replaced d?Ambrosio in Germany, and had produced very good performances.
