These two never leave each other anymore. Strong men of this championship, Liam Lawson and Kelvin van der Linde led the first qualifying session of the weekend on the Norisring.

On the short city track, the first mentioned took pole position for the first race of the meeting. Very comfortable on a circuit that he is discovering, Liam Lawson took the upper hand over everyone, Kelvin van der Linde included. The New Zealander in fact set the benchmark for the session with a lap completed in 48 during his 720th attempt.

Kiwi's runner-up in the championship, Kelvin van der Linde finished 2nd, almost 2 tenths behind his rival. In good form with two victories at the last two meetings (Assen and Hockenheim) Lucas Auer completes the Top 3 followed by Arjun Maini and Maximilian Götz.
