Rene Rast (Audi) once again won pole position at the Hungaroring in DTM with a time of 1'34''740. He was ahead of reigning champion Marco Wittmann (BMW) by 63 thousandths and Mattias Ekström by 0, first of four Audis in the 156e the 6e instead.
Nico Müller made the 4e time ahead of Mike Rockenfeller and Jamie Green. The first one Mercedes was that of Lucas Auer in 7e place. Timo Glock (BMW) was 8e ahead of Augusto Farfus (BMW) and Tom Blomqvist completed the top 10 with the Bavarian brand. Loïc duval (Audi) had a difficult qualifying and will only start from 15e instead.
