René Rast dominates EL1 at the Nürburgring

Championship leader René Rast dominated the first free practice sessions at the Nürburgring in DTM this Friday afternoon. The Audi Sport driver set the best time in 1’20”438, 0”438 ahead of Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) and 0”446 ahead of his great rival for the 2019 title, Nico Müller (Audi).

Last driver under 1'21" per lap, Jonathan Aberdein places the first Audi RS 5 DTM – Team WRT in fourth position, 4 thousandths behind Müller and ahead of the other Audi RS 5s of Jamie Green, Loïc duval and Robin Frijns, all relegated to more than seven tenths of Rast.

Marco Wittmann was the best representative of BMW Motorsport in 8th position, nine tenths behind the reference time. 10th Paul di Resta hoists the first Aston Martin Vantage – R-Motorsport at 1″2.
