ITR, promoter of the German touring car championship DTM, announced this Thursday the launch in 2020 of a DTM Trophy, intended for GT cars “close to the series” and meeting the FIA E2-SH and E2-SC regulations, propulsion only and a weight/power ratio of 3kg/ ch
“Almost every brand represented in the world of motorsport has a corresponding 400-500 hp GT car, including Audi, BMW and Aston Martin, all represented within the DTM, but also brands such as Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, McLaren, Ford, Chevrolet, Lotus, Jaguar, Toyota et Nissan. » thus indicates ITR.
A Balance of Performance will be applied and three titles will be awarded: one for drivers, one for teams and one for Juniors aged under 22, via a points scale identical to the DTM. However, no driver classification will be integrated.
The calendar will follow the DTM rounds with Zolder (24-26 April), Lausitzring (15-17 May), Anderstorp (12-14 June), Norisring (10-12 July), Assen (4-6 September), Nürburgring (11 -September 13) and Hockenheim (October 2-4) with two 30′ races per meeting without change of driver.
