Jamie Whincup (Triple Eight) claimed another victory in V1 Supercars Race 8 at Townsville after gaining no less than nine positions in the field. The reigning champion beat Garth Tander (Holden Racing Team) and the Mercedes by Will Davison (Erebus Motorsport). Garth Tander won in Race 2 while James Courtney gave the Holden Racing Team a one-two finish.
