Australian Jamie Whincup (Holden Commodore – Triple Eight Red Bull Racing Australia) won their sixth V8 Supercars championship title this morning, winning the second race of the Phillip Island meeting. He thus established a new record, becoming the only driver to be crowned six times. His teammate Craig Lowndes finished second in this round ahead of the Ford of Mark Winterbottom (Pepsi Max Crew). The V8SC drivers still have the 200 km race on the program tomorrow, Sunday.
