These are images that we don't like to see in motorsport. At the start of the second segment, on the Las Vegas oval, spectators experienced one of those shameful scenes at the highest level of the Nascar, with a real meltdown from Bubba Wallace. Frustrated by an attack, admittedly a bit virile, from Kyle Larson, Wallace threw his Toyota on the reigning Champion's Chevrolet. No contact having preceded this attack, Larson quite honestly did not have much to reproach himself for.
More seriously, Kyle Larson, in distress, unintentionally collided with Christopher Bell, in the running for the title, ruining his race and his chances of qualifying. Aggravating factor, Wallace and Bell both defend the colors of Toyota. As a continuation of this ugly gesture, Wallace physically attacked Larson who had the intelligence not to respond.

Bubba Wallace, still angry after the race, tried to justify himself. “When you're pushed against the wall, deliberately like he (Larson) did, trying to force me to slow down, the steering was broken, and he just happened to be there. » Regarding the physical confrontation, Wallace added: “He (Larson) knows. He knows what he did was wrong. He wanted to question what I was doing, and he never cleared me. I hate this for our team. Our Toyota Camry was super strong, we just had to find the balance where we needed it. It would have been like Kansas, now the car is a wreck. »
Larson, after a check-up at the medical center, said Wallace's breakdown did not surprise him. “I obviously made an aggressive move in the third turn, came in at the bottom, got away and chased a little bit. He (Wallace) came to the right front of my car, and he ended up in the wall. I knew he was going to get revenge. He had a reason to be angry, but his race wasn't over until he fought back. The aggression turned into frustration and he took revenge. »
